In the immediate aftermath of the bloody terrorist attack on a nightclub in Orlando, Florida, early Sunday morning, President Barack Obama took to his podium to do what he always does after a tragedy — ignore the real issue and instead demand stricter gun control.
Though Obama’s glossing over a terrorist attack to push his gun control agenda was not a surprise, it nevertheless remains infuriating for many who simply wish our nation’s leader would acknowledge the enemy we face and do what must be done to confront and defeat them.
The Reverend Franklin Graham is one of those who has been routinely infuriated by Obama’s seeming inability to call out our enemies by name.
Graham posted to Facebook, “I appreciate President Barack Obama speaking to the nation yesterday in the wake of the Orlando massacre. He was right in saying that this tragic shooting was an act of terror and hate.”
“But why didn’t he say it was an act of radical Islamic terrorism?” Graham demanded. “Mr. President, with all due respect, don’t forget Fort Hood; don’t forget the Boston Marathon; don’t forget San Bernardino; and don’t forget 9/11.”
Graham proceeded to note that the one thing all of those attacks have in common is the “treachery” carried out by radical Islamic terrorists in the name of their own religion.
After noting the restraints and severe budget cuts placed on our nation’s military by Obama, Graham declared, “It’s time we were rebuilding our military force worldwide to take on this enemy. It’s time we tighten America’s borders until we can clearly vet those we’re letting into the country.”
Graham ended his post by asking, “Mr. President, how many more American lives have to be lost before you understand the threat radical Islam is to every freedom-loving person?”
Reverend Graham is absolutely right, but he would be wise to not hold his breath waiting on a response from Obama, as he will likely continue to ignore the problem like he has for his entire tenure in office.
Please share this on Facebook and Twitter to help spread the Reverend Franklin Graham’s plea to Obama to finally recognize the evil we face and actually do something about it.
